Batbayan-Bezmer


Batbayan-Bezmer was placed in charge of the Bolgars by Chouvrtou but was overthrown in 677. While the Kouver Asparukh and Kotrag tribes revolted, the Boyanid Kabars consolidated their rule around Chelarevo where his people converted to Judaism in the mid 700s. He seems to have been descended from the Aba clan making him the ancestor of Bulan. He and his descendants after him remained loyal to the Kara-Khazars continuing to pay tribute to Ed 's Hungarian Turks of Azov until the 800s when his descendants were conquered by the Moravians provoking the Hungarians to take back control.
