While the Kouver Asparukh and Kotrag tribes revolted, the Boyanid Kabars consolidated their rule around Cuzdrioara , Ungvar and Halych where his people converted to Judaism in the mid 700s. He and his descendants after him remained loyal to the Kara-Khazars continuing to pay tribute to the Turks of Azov until the 800s when they were conquered by the Moravians. He seems to have been descended from the Aba clan making him the ancestor of Bulan.
